Tadiyandamol, the highest peak in Kodagu (Coorg) and the third highest in Karnataka, rises to an elevation of 1,748 meters (5,735 feet) above sea level. The name “Tadiyandamol,” derived from the Kodava language, translates to “large mountain,” aptly reflecting its prominence within the Western Ghats. Renowned for its panoramic views and verdant landscapes, Tadiyandamol is a sought-after destination for trekking enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

 The region boasts a diverse topography, featuring dense Shola forests, rolling grasslands, and rugged rocky terrains, providing a dynamic trekking experience. Tadiyandamol Hills are home to a rich biodiversity, with various species of birds, butterflies, and small wildlife inhabiting the area. The trek offers a unique opportunity to immerse in nature’s beauty while also appreciating the historical significance of nearby landmarks such as the Nalknad Palace.  Detailed Itinerary
  • Arrival at Tadiyandamol Base Point by 7.30 AM and meet our Naturalist 
  • Trek begins with a gentle ascent through coffee estates and thick forests 
  • Gradual climb through open grasslands with beautiful valley views
  • Final steep stretch leading to the peak 
  • Reach the summit by 12:00 PM 
  • Enjoy the Panoramic views and take a break 
  • Start descending by 1.30 PM ( Approx . 2.5 to 3 hours )
  • Reach the base point by 3.30 PM 
Note :  Please be aware of leeches especially during Monsoon and come prepared with leech repellents or salt

  • Weather: Expect cool mornings and evenings with warm afternoons. Night temperatures can drop significantly.
  • Permits Required: Yes (Obtained at the Beedahalli Forest Check Post)

Important Notes for Travelers coming to Coorg / Kodagu

  • There is no town called “Kodagu / Coorg “, entire region is called Kodagu / Coorg and Madikeri is its HQ.  
  • There are 5 Major Towns in Coorg – Gonikoppal and Virajpet falls in the South . Kushalnagar , Madikeri and Somwarpet falls in the North 
  • Respect the culture and tradition of the locals
  • Dress respectfully during visit to temples and rural areas
  • Insects co-existed with locals , so don’t be surprised to see them in your premises
  • Littering around Coorg is strictly prohibited
  • Avoid single use plastic and carry reusable bottles
